Tyr Chen from ArcBlock to Present at the 2019 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference in University of Victoria

On August 23, 2019 ArcBlock will present “ArcBlock Forge: A Framework to Build Reusable Interconnected Blockchains and Decentralized Applications for Research and Proof of Concepts” at the 2019 IEEE Pacific Rim Conference on Communications, Computers, and Signal Processing. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is the world’s largest technical professional organization.

The IEEE Pacific Rim (PacRim) Conference will be held at the University of Victoria located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from August 21st to August 23rd, 2019 and is one of the Pacific Northwest’s premier technical events. The University of Victoria is one of Canada’s leading public universities continually ranked as a top university for sciences and international research worldwide and number one in Canada.

This year's event will include a broad range of topics including next-generation wireless systems, 5G, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and more. ArcBlock’s blockchain-focused talk is the only blockchain topic at this year's event and will demonstrate the technical promise that the Forge Blockchain Framework can deliver to researchers, students, and academia to support their blockchain-based research projects, and Proof of Concepts in a wide range of topics including cloud, networking and 5G and being able to help researches easily build, run and manage their projects. ArcBlock’s session will be presented by Vice President of Engineering, Tyr Chen, along with many other notable speakers including distinguished speaker Professor Fumiyuki Adachi from Tohoku University of Japan, and Gary Perkins, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) from the province of British Columbia.

Tyr Chen’s seminar will look at blockchains' rapid adoption across industries, and that despite this success, there are still many challenges for today’s leading researches and academia when attempting to research the use of blockchain technologies. For researchers, creating a viable project using a custom blockchain network or decentralized application requires technical expertise and there are many difficult decisions to make before a project can begin. Tyr Chen’s talk will give a demonstration of how today’s researches and students are able to use ArcBlock’s Forge Blockchain Framework to easily research blockchain technologies and build prototypes without having to start from scratch each time.
