As many of us already know, COVID-19 is affecting many people and is challenging the norms of established systems and processes.

The COVID-19 Credentials Initiative (CCI) is working on a digital certificate, using the recently approved World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Verifiable Credentials standard. The certificate lets individuals prove (and request proof from others) they’ve recovered from the novel coronavirus, have tested positive for antibodies or have received a vaccination, once one is available.

Starting today, companies can use ArcBlock's platform and decentralized identity solutions to help individuals and users to share information with anyone in a way that protects their privacy.

ArcBlock CEO Robert Mao said, "COVID-19 is creating an unprecedented situation that’s impacting us all personally and professionally, and trying to deal with the uncertainty that comes along with it. Do I have the virus? Does someone I know have the virus? How can we create certainty where there are many unknowns?Today, we are officially announcing our support for the COVID-19 Credentials Initiativeand are trying to do our part to help each and every person. We want to give the best of what we have and make it available to every single person and company. In doing so, we can use tools and technologies like verifiable credentials and decentralized identity to create trusted data that each of us can share while also keeping our data private and secure."
