Hackathon Description

20+ million workers in the U.S. alone have filed for unemployment benefits in the first two weeks of April. We all personally know someone who has been furloughed or laid off. As we look ahead amid the global economic crisis to bring people back on their feet, many are emotionally devastated, financially concerned, and insecure about their ability to contribute.

In order to turn things around, we believe that it's crucial for us to redirect energy to learning new skills, solving critical problems, and adding immediate value to potential employers. Employers who have practical problems to solve. Among our workforce, there are those who need new challenges that push them to learn. They need to know that they can confidently make an impact today, from their home, with the experience they already have from their respective industries.

OUR GOAL

To showcase innovative student and entrepreneurial talent. To build resumes and portfolio work. To bond new team members to advance each others' careers. And to connect our mentors, judges, and sponsors to the best minds to tackle these challenges of the future.

  1. Healthcare Challenge
  2. Energy Challenge

Both challenges will be revealed on Friday at 5 pm CT.

Team building on Slack will be revealed on Wednesday at 12 pm CT.

Anyone interested in participating in the hackathon can register here.
